There are common Print and Print Preview features for all the main activities in orchidmedia Desktop Companion. This is achieved with ICT's Print Style Designer. It allows you to create customized documents to print based on where you are in the software at any given time. The current selections and views displayed on screen define the information to print in the document.
Print and Print Preview can be accessed via the Action Menu action on the Menu bar. For instance, if you are viewing Contact information, you can access the Print Preview option from the Contact Action Menu displayed:-

Contact Action Menu options
When you select the Print Preview option listed in the Action Menu actions, the software will load the Print Preview window with the items found in the current User Folder.

Print Preview Window
1. Print Style - displays the available print styles for the current information. In this case, it displays the Contact Card print styles because we are currently viewing Contacts in orchidmedia. You can create and manage your own print styles using the Add, Delete, and Edit buttons shown next to the Print Style List (1).
2. Print Style layout - displays the layouts used to display the current Print Style shown in the Preview Panel (3). Each Print Style created can have many layouts attached to produce complex printed documents. A Layout can be simple types such as a heading or a picture or more complex types such as the Contact Card View, or Calendar View. Each layout has a dynamic position on the page to cope with different page sizes. You can create and manage the layouts for a print style using the Add, Delete, Edit, Move Up, Move Down buttons shown next to the Print Style Layout List.
3. Print Preview Panel - displays the current Print Style populated with items found in the Current User folder in orchidmedia. The Panel displays a graphical representation of a page as it would be printed. As your Display Monitor has a different number of dots to the inch or millimetre compared to a printer, the page is rendered to the resolution of the Display Monitor and scaled up or down, based on the zoom settings in (4).
4. Print Preview Controls - provides the controls to change the size of the rendered page, to move to another printed page, and see the document in different standard paper sizes.
5. OK - when you have finished with the Print Preview Window, click on the OK button to close the Window.
