The following section describes how to view Video clips and files in orchidmedia using the Multimedia player, accessed by the Now Playing Activity. You can select the Now Playing Activity in the orchidmedia Desktop Companion by selecting the Now Playing Icon from the Activity List in the Navigation Panel.
When you select the Now Playing Activity Icon, the software removes the Folder Tree view in the Navigation Panel, to increase the visual area of the media screen to play videos. You can increase the visual area further by selecting the Reduce panel (1) button located in the top right hand corner of the navigation panel, and by selecting the Close (5) button to hide the Media Panel, located in the top right hand corner of the Media Panel (6).
Selecting the Now Playing Activity from the Navigation Panel displays the Media Player View (4), the Now Playing toolbar (3), and the Now Playing menu (2) in the menu bar, as shown below.

Orchidmedia using the Media Player
The Media Panel (6) is used in conjunction with the Media Player (7) to Play Music through the computer's Sound system, and Play Video in the Media Screen (4). Using the Play and Add/Play functions in the Music or Video Library, you can add Music Tracks or Video Clips to the Media Panel, where you can arrange the tracks in the order of play.
You use the Media Player(7) to control the playing of Music tracks and Video clips from the Playlist. (See
The Media Player, for further reading on the use of the controls in the Media Player).
The Media Screen (4) and Now Playing Menu bar and Toolbar display only when you select the Now Playing Activity. The Media Player and Media Panel are displayed and available from any other activity in orchidmedia.
You can switch between watching TV and watching Video clips and playing music using the Now Playing Toolbar. Click on the TV button to watch TV (1), or click on the Playlist button on the Toolbar to playback music and video from the Media Panel. When you select the TV button, there are additional functions displayed to watch TV (2).
