You can use the Photo View in the Photo Library activity to manage and organize Photo image files in to different folders using the Photo Toolbar, or the Edit menu options on the menu bar.

Photo Toolbar

There are functions to Cut, Copy, Paste and Delete selected items from the Photo View using the buttons on the Toolbar. You can use these functions together to move Photo image files from one folder to another.

To see how this works, the following example moves three files from the Social Photo folder to the Work Photo folder:-

First, we select the photo image files from the displayed thumbnails in the Photo View for the Social Photo folder, by depressing the Ctrl button and moving the mouse over each thumbnail in turn and clicking the left button on the mouse. The selected thumbnails are highlighted as shown in (1). You can any of the Mouse and Keyboard selection commands to select the thumbnails.

Next, we select the Copy button (2) on the Photo toolbar to copy the selected items to the Clipboard. When items are copied or cut to the clipboard, the Clipboard Window (3) displays to show the current items in the Clipboard. You can use the Delete or Empty button in the Clipboard Window to remove items in Clipboard storage.

Finally, we select the Work Photo folder from the Photo sub-folders displayed in the navigation panel to the left of the Photo view and select the Paste button (5) to copy the Photo file collection (4) selected in the Clipboard Window to the Work Photo folder. The newly copied photos are displayed as thumbnails in the photo View (6).

Photo Image files with the same filename can exist in different Photo folders, however if you paste a Photo image file with the same filename as an existing file in a folder, the new copy will have a filename with the suffix "(2)".

Selecting the Cut or Delete Actions from the toolbar or menu will remove the files selected from the Photo Folder.
