Managing Downloads

You can manage downloaded files in the Web browser activity, by selecting the Downloads folder from the Tree view displayed in the navigation panel to the left of the Web browser.

 

When you select the Downloads folder from the tree view, the Downloads Tab window appears in the Web Browser Tabs, and the Web Toolbar changes to the Web Download toolbar to show editing actions for downloaded items.

1. Show Link View - use the Show Link view button to display the Downloads tabbed window, if it has been previously closed or it has not been opened yet.  The Downloads view will display in the Downloads Tab window for you to manage downloaded items.

 

2. Edit Download Properties - select an item from the Download view, to edit the item's download properties using the Edit Download Properties button.  (see Editing Download Properties for further reading on this topic).

 

3. Delete Download(s) - select one or more items from the Downloads view to delete the items from the Downloads folder in orchidmedia.

1. Filename - the Downloads view displays the filename for each downloaded item, along with the original location, Status, File Size, Last Accessed and Created Date.

 

2. Status - the Status column provides information on the download status of items. Errors in downloading are displayed in this column for your information.

 

3. File Size - the File Size provides the amount of bytes (characters) downloaded for the items. The units are kb (kilobytes/1024 Characters) or Mb(Megabytes/1024x1024).

 

4. Open, Edit Properties - menu actions are provided in the popup menu for the Downloads View to provide an alternative means of accessing actions.  The Open action will open a document with the application software on your computer associated with this type, or run the downloaded application.
