Web Download Properties

Web Download Properties

1. Name - you can type a new filename for the downloaded item in the Name field provided. You must provide a name without using reserved characters used by the Windows Operating system to indicate file paths or drives, or using special characters. Stick to characters A to z, and avoid characters !"£$%^&*()+=~#}{:;@<>?/\,. to be consistent and compatible with file naming under the Operating system, since you will want to use the file at some point in the future in the computer's file storage system.

2. Icon - you can select an individual icon for the downloaded file using the Icon button. The Icon button displays the Image Selector Window, where you can select from the system libary of icons or select an image of your own from the Photo library. (see Image Selector Window for more information on this topic).

3. Internet location - this is the original location of the downloaded file, and it can be used in most cases to download the item again, if there is a previous error or problem with connection to the web site. Typically, you would leave the field contents unchanged.

4. Status - this provides a read only field of the current status of the download. If you are saving the Link or image prior to downloading then the status will show Connecting to Host. During the download process, the status shows the percentage of the file downloaded, and when the download is complete, it will show the Download Complete message.  Any other text in the Status field would suggest an error or problem in the download process.

5. Downloads Folder - select the Downloads folder to use to store the downloaded file. This is normally the "Downloads" folder itself, but you can use the New Folder button (6) to create sub folders in the "Downloads" folder, and use this new folder if required.

7. Cancel - click on the Cancel button to cancel the changes to the Download properties for the item, and close the window.

8. Save - click on the Save button to save the changes to the Download properties for the item, and close the window.
