When you select the New or Edit IM Account Button, in the Instant Messaging Page of the User Preferences Window, the IM Account Window displays, as shown below:-

 

 

1 & 2. Previous Page & Next Page buttons - click on the Next page button (2) to move to the next page of the window, or use the Previous Page button (1) to move back a page. There are two pages to complete. Provide the Account name (3) first, before selecting the Next page button(2).

 

3. Account Name - type a friendly name or description for the IM Account in the field provided., which is more memorable to you than your instant messaging address or code

 

4. Type of IM Account - keep this as IM MSN, in this version of orchidmedia.

1 & 2. On the second page, Fields shown in 1 and 2 are provided to type the IM login details given to you by Microsoft for your passport or MSN account. For MSN, this is an email address in the format; yourusername@hotmail.com.

 

3. The Type of IM Account on the previous page, will determine the IM Server Address and IM Port to use for the Instant Messaging Service. You do not need to change this for this version of orchidmedia.

 

4. Check the "Disable Account for Now" option, if you do not wish to use the account with orchidmedia. The software will ignore disabled accounts.

 

Select the SAVE button to store your IM Account details, or select the CANCEL button to cancel changes made to the details.  Selecting the (x) Exit button will also cancel changes.
