From the Import Contents Page displayed in the Import Window, you can create Custom Maps to map fields to the imported file.  When you select the CUSTOM Button in the Import Contents page, the Custom Map Window displays:-

Custom Map Window

1. Field Map - this displays the current Map file used, in this case DEFAULT map, the current record in the import file, and the total number of records found in the import file.  In the Field Map view below, the order, Mapped field and Header in file columns are shown.   What you should see is the correct mapped field in the same row as the information in the Header in file column.  Ignore slight differences in the field names because each software package may use a different field name to describe the same piece of information.

2. Available Fields - this displays all the unique fields used in orchidmedia to store contact and place address information. The fields available have already been allocated to the Field Map in (1) in the Mapped field Column using the DEFAULT map.  You can change a mapped field in the field map, row by row by selecting from the available fields and using the ADD(+) and REMOVE(-) buttons shown (9).

3. Cancel - click the Cancel button shown at any time to ignore changes made to the current Field Map and return to the Import Window.

4. Select - click the Select button shown to modify the current map in the Import Window with your changes in the Custom Map, and return to Import Window.

5. PREV and NEXT record - use the PREV and NEXT buttons to show the next or previous record found in the import file, so that you can check that the actual information in the file is mapped correctly to orchidmedia fields.

6. CLEAR map - use the CLEAR button to remove all the current fields mapped to the import file, so that you can start from scratch to create your own Custom Map.

7. LOAD map - use the LOAD button to replace the current fields mapped to the import file with a previously stored Custom map.

8. SAVE map - use the SAVE button to make a permanent map which you can load in the future using LOAD map (7)

9. ADD/REMOVE - the (+)plus and (-)minus buttons allow you to add and remove the current mapped field to any selected row in the Field Map (1).  To add a mapped field, select the field from the Field Available List (2), and select the row in the Field Map(1). Click the (+)plus button to map the field.  To use the (-)minus button to remove a mapped field, select a row in the Field Map(1) and click the (-)minus button to remove the current mapped field.

Once you have mapped fields to the import file, select the Select button (4) to return to the Import Window.
