Attaching Files

When you create a new email message using the Mail Editor Window, you can attach files to the email message using the Select Attachments button to the left of the Attached field displayed on the Mail Editor Window.  Clicking on the Select Attachments button displays the Select Attachments Window as shown below:-

1. File Editing Toolbar - displayed at the top of the window are basic File Editing buttons to manage and organise files stored in the Media folders.  You can add external files stored on the computers folders to media folders using the Add Files button, and you can open files using the default application for the type of file using the Open button.

 

2. Media Folders - displayed in the Tree view to the left of the screen are the media folders for the current  user. The software only displays Media folders with types of files which can be selected as attachments for emails.

 

3. Media View - when you select a media folder, the media view changes to display the items stored in the media folder.  Media folders for Photos will display thumbnails of the Photos, Video and Music Media Folders will display clip and track information, and Document and Download Media Folders will display File information for your convenience.

 

4. Selection List - you can add any of the items displayed above in the Media View to the Selection List (4) using the Add File button (5).

 

5. Add File - the Add File button adds selected items from the Media view into the Selection List (4), and displays the total size of the selected attachments for you to see above the Selection list.  The software does not stop you from sending very large emails. It displays a warning button next to the Add button if the total size of attachments are too large. (see Sending Large Files for more information).

 

6. Remove File - use the Remove File button to remove selected items from the Selection List (4).

 

7. Rename File - use the Rename File button to display the File Properties window, and rename the selected file. (see Editing File Properties for more information). Renaming the file will rename the file selection only, the original file stored in the media file will retain it's original file name.

 

8. Cancel - click on the Cancel button to ignore selections and return to the Mail Editor Window.

 

9. Select - click on the Select button to add the selected files as attachments to the new email message.
