Selecting the Add action displays the File Selection window as shown below:-

1. External Folders - in the File Selection Window, you can traverse your computer folders using the Files view displayed to select individual or groups of files using mouse and keyboard selection actions.

2. Filesname(s) - the Files selected in (1) are displayed in the Filename(s) field. You can type the filename if it exists in the current folder in the filename(s) field.

3. Destination Folder - choose a Documents folder in orchidmedia to use to store the files selected in (2).

4. Import Options - there are 3 different ways you can add files to the Documents folders, shown in (3). If you select "Add Selection to Library", the software will copy the files selected and add the files to the secure file storage system. If you select "Add and Remove from source", the software add the files to the secure file storage system and remove them permanently from the selected folder on the computer.  Finally, you can select the "Scan selection only" option, to leave the files in the selected folder, and make the software reference the files at their present location on the computer in the selected Documents folder.

Referenced files can be regarded like file shortcuts. The file storage system only maintains a record of where the file resides, and uses the original location for the file to perform functions in orchidmedia.  When you delete a referenced file in orchidmedia, the software deletes the reference record, and it does not delete the original file on the computer.

5. Cancel - click on the Cancel button to cancel the Add Files process, close the File selection window and return to the Documents view.

7. Select - click on the Select button to perform the Add Files process with the selected files. The software displays progress on the addition of files in an alert window at the bottom right of the screen.
