1. File View - navigate through the computer's drives and folders displayed in the File view to find the Video files to add to orchidmedia. You can select more than one file to add using mouse and keyboard selection commands.

2. Filename(s) - selections made in the File view are shown in the Filename(s) Field, and you can type the filename(s) in the field if you know their filenames.

3. Media File Filter - the software can read and display many Media file types. The Media File Filter allows you to select a specific type of Video file to search for from the drop down list of types displayed, or you can filter for all the supported Video file types.  If you are unable to see a file that exists in a folder in the file view, it may not be displayed because of the selection made in the Media file Filter field.

4. Destination Folder - select the destination Video folder in orchidmedia for the Video files. The destination folder will be the current folder in the Video View, unless you select another folder from the drop down list provided.

5. Import Options - You can choose to add Video files to orchidmedia folders in three different ways. If you want to add the Video files to orchidmedia's secure storage system, you can select the "Add selection to Library" option. This option will take a copy of the selected files and add the files to it's storage system.  If you want to add the selected files to the storage system, and permanently remove them their current location on the computer select the "Add and Remove from source" option. Finally, you can select to add a reference to the location of the selected files using the "Scan selection only" option.  With the "Scan Selection only" option, the software creates a record in the destination folder of the location of the file, rather than creating and/or removing the original file.

Reference records in orchidmedia can be regarded as the same as File shortcuts in the Windows operating system.  If you delete a referenced file in orchidmedia, it does not delete the original file.  The Scanning selection option is faster to perform than adding the physical files into secure storage.

7. Cancel - click on the Cancel button provided to cancel the Add Clips operation, close the Add Clips Window and return to the Video View.

8. Select - click on the Select button to perform the Add Clips operation with the selected files. The software displays an alert window with the progress of the operation at the right hand bottom of the screen. You can cancel the operation from the alert window by selecting the (X) Cancel button.
