When you select the Tools|Preferences Menu action from the Menu on the Menu bar, the User Preferences Window displays as follows:-

1. Options Available - listed to the left of the User Preferences Window are the Options available. Click on the option to display the Options Page in the rest of the window. Version 1.07 provides 6 option Pages to set User preferences, and these are orchidmedia, General Preferences, Organizer, Email Service, Instant Messaging, Privacy Settings and Browser Settings.
2. Cancel - you can close the User Preferences Window without changing User preferences by selecting the Cancel Button.
3. Save - Select the Save Button to close the User Preferences Window and save your changes.
4. Product and License Information - displays version type, either (PRO! or Basic), and the version number for orchidmedia, along with the License holders name and registration status.
5. Buy Pro! License - provides a link to our web site to purchase a PRO! license key for orchidmedia online.
6. GO PRO! - select the GO PRO! button to provide your registration key when you have purchases a PRO! License. The GO PRO! button displays the Activate window:-

6.1. Locate Registration Key File - type in the location of the Registration Key file on your computer. This will start with the Drive Letter, followed by a colon (:), a backslash (\), the Filepath and the Filename. An example would be "C:\orchidmedia\key.txt".
6.2. Browse for Key File -alternatively, you can select the Browse button to search for the file on your computer. When you select the file using the displayed File Selection window, the location is returned in the file field above (1) of the activate window, and the Registration key is loaded into the area shown by (3).
6.3. Registration Key - The Registration key provides a coded sequence of readable characters which will be used to unlock the PRO! features of orchidmedia.
6.4. Activate Key - once you have loaded the Registration key and it is displayed in the area (3) above, then click on the Activate Button to complete the activation process. the software will display a message to tell you if you have a valid key.
6.5. Close - click on the close button to close the Activate Window.
Please Note: the PRO! features will not work until you close orchidmedia Desktop Companion and start orchidmedia again.
